Figs are best consumed close to where they are naturally grown. Nearly all commercial figs in the United States come from California, which produces almost all of the nation’s dried figs and the vast majority of fresh figs.
One raw fig has 10 grams of carbohydrates and two figs have 20 grams of carbohydrates. Figs are a low glylcemic food item in amounts less than two whole figs.
